The high-adrenaline shoot-em-up blockbuster "Wanted," from Russian director Timur Bekmanbetov, hit theaters Friday, setting the bar (and a high bar, I might add) for summer action flicks to come. "Wanted" star James McAvoy ("The Last King of Scotland," "Atonement") as Wesley Gibson, a self-acknowledged loser, is depressed and going nowhere in all areas of his life.

Wall-E Starring Ben Burtt, Elissa Knight, Jeff Garlin Directed by Andrew Stanton Walt Disney Pictures B+ Disney Pixar's newest movie, "Wall-E," opened in theaters last Friday to eager audiences of both kids and adults. What a terrible day to be outside. The air is sweaty before it even hits Mr. Duvel's skin, and the clouds look like thugs down a dark alley waiting to pounce on Friendship and drench Mr. Duvel as he stands in the parking lot of the Sharp Edge.

Cameo Rowe's recently self-published novel has been through a lot. First written in short story form as a gift, the book has since been accidentally deleted from a floppy disk, critiqued by numerous Pitt professors and repeatedly rewritten and revised.

Rowe, who graduated from Pitt last spring, recalls working on the book, titled "Defenders of the Realm I: The World Mystic Arts Tournament," for six years before recently sealing its destiny as the first published segment of his "Defenders of the Realm" trilogy.

The trailers shown before "WALL-E" were a cold reminder of just how hard it is to make a decent family film these days. The many G-rated travesties soon playing in theaters everywhere will include a pointless sequel to "Madagascar" and something called "Beverly Hills Chihuahua.

Bullets flying across Chicago carve themselves perfectly into the foreheads of bad guys on rooftops.

The walls are lined with photographs of the store's most famous patrons - Johnny Cash shopped here, as did Steve Harvey, Biggie Smalls, Floyd Mayweather Jr., the Tempatations, Star Jones, Cedric the Entertainer and Mike Tyson. Even Kwame Kilpatrick has spent a few of the city's spare dollars there.
